On November 18, 1912 Oliver Fry with his two oldest sons, Tom and Erwin, arrived at the railroad siding in what is known now as Huachuca City. They brought a boxcar with supplies and livestock and made their way to the Fry homestead.

Col. Hardy became post commander to Ft. Huachuca on April 1942. Construction of the Green Top began on August 1942 and held a formal opening on March 27, 1943
