Photographer's location on above photo.

A 1949 / 1950 aerial view of The Green Top. I'm not exactly sure of  the

photographer's location, so I took a guess, the red circle is where I think

                        the photo was taken from.

  1. I just discovered your site. What a great source of reference material. I lived in Sierra Vista as a young child from 1960-1971, first on School Dr and then in Village Meadows. Two of my favorite photos on your site...Mr & Mrs Meadors (I walked to Meadors to buy candy—it seemed so far away to a 5 year old) and the photo of the Dairy Queen, where our Little League team (the Rotaries) went every time we won a game. Cones were a nickel. I remember when the first traffic lights were installed (3 of them). Thank you for helping me take a trip down Memory Lane. Did you grow up there?

    1. Hi Bryan, thanks for checking out my blog. I was born in Tombstone and we lived several towns in Cochise County. We moved to Sierra Vista in 1961 when I was 8 years old and I've been here ever since.

  2. Mr. Vega, I love your blog. I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca for training during March and April in 1966. I'm writing my memoir and trying to remember the time I spent there. Thanks to your blog a lot of memories came back. Thank you. I have two questions: I can't remember the name of the restaurant where I ate several times. It was a fancy steak restaurant. The reasons I ate there were that they had white table clothes and had my favorite bottle of wine, a French Cabernet. My other question is this, I can't remember the place where their was a piano bar. It had the most knowledgeable piano player who knew every musical number we threw at him. I and several of my buddies tried to stump him, but it was impossible. If you have any information please email me at jgngtravel@gmail.com Thank you very much.

  3. Hello, I'm glad my blog is helping regain some of your memories of Sierra Vista. I like your questions, in 1966 we had several steak houses. A good reference source is a local FB group page that you can join, You Know You're From Sierra Vista When....., the piano player and fancy steak house questions can be posted there and you might be surprised on the replies.
